- IUK library aspires to be a “state of the art” information center, committed to excellence in the provision, dissemination, and preservation of knowledge to achieve the university vision to be the premier and leading university in Kuwait and the region.
- To establish IUK library as a primary source of academic and research support for students and faculty members.
- To develop a Digital Repository to preserve and maintain university-specific resources.

Support Student Success
The IUK Library aims to provide quality spaces, services, and resources that foster student success. We will achieve this by:
- Creating a more inclusive and engaging library culture for all students.
- Leading initiatives to reduce the cost of course materials.
- Promoting information literacy through targeted programs.
Support High-Impact Research
We will support faculty, staff, and student research by:
- Increasing access to IUK-authored content.
- Enhancing the visibility and impact of IUK research and creative work.
- Offering services to help researchers identify appropriate journals for publication.
- Building rich and accessible collections tailored to users' evolving needs.
Engage the Community
We will provide high-quality information and opportunities that expand education, improve health, and foster economic development. We will:
- Demonstrate the library’s value to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with local and national organizations for resource sharing and consortia.
- Improve physical and digital library spaces.
- Make the library a healthy and fulfilling environment to study and work in.
Advance Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI)
We will integrate DEAI into the library’s mission to support teaching, research, and service. We will:
- Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and inclusive workforce at all levels.
- Foster a welcoming, safe, and empowering environment for all individuals.
Four critical tasks under this strategy include:
- Collecting and curating collections that are broadly representative and accessible.
- Ensuring that library spaces are inclusive and accessible to all staff and users.
- Reconfiguring existing spaces to accommodate a range of physical and cognitive needs.
- Developing and delivering staff training programs focused on inclusive practices, accessibility, and effective service to diverse user communities.
